The Hupferl

Hold on tight! It's time for the Hupferl!

This year, a piece of Munich tradition returns to the Oktoberfest with the Hupferl. Daredevil visitors of all ages can have a wonderful shake on the red leather seats of the beautifully painted gondola before they actually throw themselves into the hustle and bustle.

The Hupferl: nostalgic ride fun

The renowned carousel manufacturer Höpler has produced the Hupferl ride, a Bavarian classic from 1987, which this year is located on Straße 1, No. 14, in the immediate vicinity of the Theresienwiese subway station. It is a classic round ride that is characterized by its simple but extremely entertaining mechanics. While the ride turns and gently bounces up and down, creating the characteristic bouncy ride feeling, passengers have to hold on by their own strength. Logically, however, no one needs to be afraid of injury.

Everyone on board: the Hupferl

The Hupferl has a round bench with a diameter of 9 meters, on which around 50 people can sit. A hydraulic system accelerates the circle up to 14 revolutions per minute, this way, visitors are given a good whirl.
