WirtshausWiesn is a living tradition

The WirtshausWiesn goes back to the origins of the Oktoberfest - to the celebrations for the royal wedding of 1810 - the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.

However, the very first Oktoberfest in 1810 was not celebrated on the Theresienwiese, where only a horse race took place. People ate, drank and sang in Munich's inns. King Maximilian I had invited the people to eat and drink for five days after the wedding. And we celebrate this origin with you!

The WirtshausWiesn is a genuine Bavarian tradition and is a tribute to the Oktoberfest.

Munich's restaurants are looking forward to seeing you!

More than 40 restaurants from cafés to large breweries are taking part in the WirtshausWiesn: the establishments of around 40 Munich city center innkeepers and their friends, five inns in the vicinity of the city center.

Oktoberfest feeling with decoration, food, drink and music

We await you with lived and loved Wiesn traditions in the pubs! Of course there is the famous Wiesn beer from the six Munich breweries and festival beer from the surrounding area.

The inns are once again decorated in typical Oktoberfest style, for example with gingerbread hearts and fresh hops, reminiscent of the fragrant decorations in the festival tents. There are Bavarian delicacies from the Oktoberfest menu from the tents and, of course, fresh festival beer from the barrel in a beer mug.

The classics from the Oktoberfest tents are also served: Freshly roasted chicken with crispy skin, knuckle of pork or roast pork with dumplings, Kasspatzen or a classic Oktoberfest snack with pretzels, Obazda and sausage salad. A few specials are also a must: In addition to chicken, knuckle of pork or delicious Steckerlfisch, creative Bavarian cuisine is also on offer - for example WirtshausWiesn pizza and a WirtshausWiesn cocktail.

And what would the Oktoberfest feeling be without music - it also plays in the restaurants and beer gardens. There are not only traditional sounds, but also young Bavarian music. Swaying is encouraged! Best in a dirndl or lederhosen, of course.
