How to participate

Creative, atmospheric and with great public appeal, it should capture the soul of the festival. Professional graphic designers, artists, students of art academies and universities of applied sciences for visual communication and anyone who can create a design for the Oktoberfest in accordance with the technical and content requirements are invited to take part in the open competition.

  • The upload deadline was Wednesday, December 18, 6 am.
  • All entries that meet the selection criteria in the conditions of participation will take part in an online public vote in January 2025. The best 30 will be submitted to a jury, which will select the official 2025 motif with which the city will make the traditional folk festival known worldwide in analog and digital form.

The award-winning motif will adorn numerous licensed items - including the official collector's jug.

The winners will receive 2,500 euros for 1st place, 1,250 euros for 2nd place and 500 euros for 3rd place. In addition to the prize money, a usage fee of 5,000 euros will be paid for the design that is realized as the official motif.

The award-winning motif for Oktoberfest 2025 will be displayed on the Internet, in social media, on licensed articles and posters. It will also adorn the official series stein, continuing the series of coveted collector's steins that began in 1978.
Since 1952, the City of Munich has organized an annual Oktoberfest motif competition, which is held as an online competition in cooperation with Portal München Betriebs-GmbH & Co. KG on the official city portal muenchen.de
